HydroHeroes ("we", "us", or "our") operates the HydroHeroes mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use HydroHeroes:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect a username, age range, weight range, and sex (used solely to calculate your recommended daily water intake).
- Hydration Data: We store the water intake entries you log, including amount, timestamp, and container type.
- Social Data: If you use social features (friends, leagues), we store your friend connections, league memberships, and related activity.
- Device Tokens: We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens to deliver push notifications you have opted into.
- Subscription Status: We record whether you have an active premium subscription. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.

- Calculate and display your personalized hydration goal.
- Track and visualize your daily, weekly, and monthly water intake.
- Power social features such as friend leaderboards and league competitions.
- Send push notifications (hydration reminders, friend requests, league updates) that you have opted into.
- Maintain your account and subscription status.

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firestore Security Rules to ensure users can only access their own data and data explicitly shared through social features. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your hydration data and profile information are only visible to:
- You.
- Users you have added as friends (limited to username, daily progress, and streak).
- Members of leagues you have joined (limited to username, daily progress, and streak).
6. Your Rights
- Access & Export: You can view all your data within the App at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from the App's settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
7. Children's Privacy
HydroHeroes is not directed at children under the age of 12. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12. If you believe a child under 12 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
